Brock D. Herriges, DMD
Dr. Herriges grew up in The Dalles, Oregon and received a Presidential Scholarship from Portland State
University. After earning his DMD degree in 1998, and his Certificate in Periodontology in 2001 from
Oregon Health Sciences University, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant at Naval Dental
Center Mid-Atlantic in Norfolk, Virginia. He joined Dr. John Chirgwin’s periodontal practice in 2004, and
they worked together until Dr. Chirgwin’s retirement. In January 2024, Dr. Herriges merged his practice
with a local group practice to form PerioPDX.
Dr. Herriges has extensive experience in regenerative and cosmetic periodontal surgery, as well as
dental implant surgery. He is a Board Certified periodontist, having achieved Diplomate status from the
American Board of Periodontology. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American
Academy of Periodontology, Oregon Dental Association and Multnomah Dental Society. He has served
as President of the Oregon Society of Periodontists, as well as serving a term on the Board of Directors
of the Western Society of Periodontology.
Outside the office, Dr. Herriges enjoys skiing, paddleboarding, spending weekends at the Oregon Coast,
and is an avid Portland Trailblazers fan.
Dr. Ernest (Jamie) Holden, DMD, MS
Periodontist, Educator, Former Professional Athlete
Dr. Jamie Holden is a periodontist dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in periodontics and implant dentistry. He focuses on helping patients achieve long-term oral health through individualized treatment plans, including both surgical and non-surgical therapies.
Originally from Northern British Columbia, Dr. Holden came to the U.S. on an NCAA Division I hockey scholarship to Quinnipiac University, where he served as the starting goaltender for 4 seasons and graduated summa cum laude with a 3.9 GPA balancing academic excellence with athletic achievement. He later played professional hockey as a free agent with the San Jose Sharks and competed professionally for several affiliated hockey teams in California, Ohio, and Florida before transitioning to a career in dentistry.
He earned his DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and completed a two-year General Practice Residency, serving as Co-Chief Resident. He went on to complete specialty training in periodontics at Oregon Health & Science University, where he also earned a Master of Science in Periodontology.
He and his wife, Marion–also a dentist– have two children, Cora and Matthew. Outside of the office, Dr. Holden enjoys hiking, cooking, playing sports, and spending quality time with his family.

Dr. Tran
Dr. Tran considers himself a native Oregonian, coming from Vietnam when he was just 4 years old. After graduating from Sunset High School, he moved to Corvallis Oregon to attend Oregon State University where he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology. He continued his studies at OHSU School of Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD). Dr. Tran practiced general dentistry for many years until he decided to further his education, specializing in Periodontics. He continued advancing his skills through intensive surgical, periodontal, and implant training with top professionals in the field.
Dr. Tran enjoys attending and speaking at study groups around the Portland area. His desire to give meaningful information and care extends not only to those who practice dentistry, but also to those who seek his service. Meet Dr. Tran periopdx, who has a genuine love for his work and is committed to providing quality care while making each patient feel part of the family at periopdx.
Dr. Tran and his wife Melodee have three children, two girls and a boy. Their eldest daughter is currently pursuing a career in nursing, their middle daughter is working at earning her undergrad degree, majoring in business and their youngest son is finishing high school with plans to follow in his father’s footsteps. The entire family shares a love for road trips that often lead to visiting friends and family in Canada and to the happiest place on earth, Disneyland!

Born in Canada but raised in Oregon, Gayle is our registered dental hygienist. With encouragement from her own general dentist, she started her dental career right out of high school, becoming a dental assistant. She eventually moved on to earn her associate’s degree in dental hygiene from Mt. Hood Community College. Gayle has worked 10 years in general practice, and 29 years in the field of periodontics, as well as volunteering with a mobile dental van. When not caring for her patients, she has enjoyed traveling, cycling, spending time with friends and family and even made an “attempt “ at wildlife photography.

Cindee has worked in dentistry for over 30 years. She’s enjoyed working in the dental specialties of orthodontics and pediatrics, and has now been in periodontics at our office since 2013. Cindee truly feels that we have the greatest patients! She treasures all of them and enjoys working and caring for them. She is honored and blessed to be able to work with the staff here. Our staff has become her family and friends. Cindee was born in Oregon and was raised in the Seattle area. She returned to Oregon in 2011. In her spare time, she enjoys going on adventures with her teenage granddaughter, exploring the Pacific Northwest. She also likes to spend her quiet time doing puzzles and playing games.

McKenna is our Marketing Coordinator and a key connection between our offices and the dental community we serve. A graduate of Oregon State University, she brings a strong foundation in communication, relationship-building, and professionalism to her role. McKenna works closely with referring providers and their teams to foster meaningful partnerships, ensure clear communication, and support a seamless patient experience. Known for her friendly demeanor, positive energy, and collaborative approach, she takes great pride in representing our practice and the exceptional care provided by our clinical teams across all locations.

Kimberly has worked in our office since 2017, but has been working in the dental field since 1997. She began her career as a chairside dental assistant, and made the switch to the administrative side of things after ten years. Among her many duties, she is our resident insurance expert: obtaining benefit information and filing claims. She loves to help our patients receive the benefits they deserve and will go above & beyond to help a claim get paid. When not working, her favorite thing is spending time with her husband and their two well-loved cats. She also loves the Oregon Coast, stand-up comedy, attending concerts, watching movies, antiquing, and time spent with friends & family.
